Attachment, Somatic, Nature-Based, & Spiritual Approaches
Helping you heal mind, body, and soul.
Does this sound familiar?
You’re used to feeling invisible, as if your voice doesn’t matter.
You’re always on the outside, looking in.
So busy reading the room and sensing everyone else’s energy, you forget to check in with yourself.
You look outward for people to like you..... But what do you like?
Saying no does not feel like an option, as much as you want to. As if you don't have the right to have your own feelings.
Sometimes, you feel deep sadness and anger…but no one ever sees that side of you.
Your internal judge critiques your emotions, or lack thereof.
The relationships you have are unnerving. You anticipate their endings, before things even get started.
It’s always, When are they going to leave me? When is this going to fall apart?
So you play it safe, keeping your distance and avoiding taking risks of full contact with others, even though you truly crave it.
(Can you hear a whisper deep within wanting more? Can you hear that voice of deep knowing asking for attention?)
You had a stressful childhood and may have lived through trauma. These experiences still have sway in your relationships and life.
You are constantly attending your nervous system, like it’s a full time job.
You are tired of feeling this way, held back by the past and unsure of who you are without your pain.
You are ready for change, to heal and finally feel at ease within.
You’re in the right place.
My clients come to me feeling out of place in the world – afraid to connect, but tired of feeling so alone.
In our work together, you will learn to see and feel that you do matter, how to live from the inside-out in connection to self and others in a more profound way.
This may seem out of reach right now, but it is a human right to be in full contact with yourself without sacrifice.
When you work with me, you’ll experience…
a relationship where it’s okay to express your feelings
an ally who can guide you as you explore your desires in relationship, work, and future visions
your inherent wisdom and creativity that provides what you need (because it's already there, it’s a matter of connecting to it)
gentle guidance to show you where your blind spots are
the tolerance and capacity to accept all parts of yourself with compassion and dare I say, joy
Through somatic, spiritual, and nature-based practices, I’ll show you that your nervous system is designed to be both active and calm. You have the power to have a sustained ease.
I can help you identify the beliefs you may have learned that no longer serve you, that carry shame.
When we unhook them, we have choice and possibilities.
It is possible to have intimacy in relationships, and to feel full and self-aware in all of your contexts and locations.
You will experience change through the healing process.
You will learn your strengths and become your own witness and ally.
Whenever you’re ready, I’m here.
“Lissa has a gift. As a psychotherapist myself, her work with me has been remarkable, releasing age-old trauma, and reframing old views into powerful, positive allies. She is friendly, professional, and a joy to work with. I can't recommend her enough.”
Jason Gruhl, MA, Registered Psychotherapist
Shift from disconnection and disempowerment to feeling capable, confident, and aligned with purpose.
WHAT ARE TRAUMA THERAPY SESSIONS LIKE?
-
Therapy doesn’t have to stay in the office. We may go to the creek or other natural setting, connecting with earth & plant beings as allies in the healing process.
-
Healing is not just about thinking different thoughts or analyzing problems. It also means listening to your body and nervous system. I offer gentle guidance through somatic therapy, always moving at your pace and helping you build a secure and connected relationship with yourself.
-
I’ll be fully present with you, attuned to your needs, and will regularly check in to see what you’re noticing. This curious, contemplative approach allows us to find ways to enjoy slowing down – and connect with the intuition and wisdom already within you.
Frequently Asked Questions about Trauma Therapy
-
Trauma therapy works by addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and soul through a variety of modalities, always at the speed of trust. By addressing your nervous system and your response to your trauma on physical, mental, emotional spiritual levels, we take the charge out of the trauma and re-relate to it, creating an opening for growth beyond its borders.
Each session is unique and tailored to your specific needs, often incorporating a blend of verbal processing and experiential somatic therapy. I’ll meet you exactly where you’re at – you don’t have to show up in any particular way or worry about “doing it right.”
You’ll likely leave each session feeling more aware and connected to yourself. Over time, these small shifts tend to accumulate into powerful, positive changes in your life – more fulfilling relationships, more confidence and self-trust, and a sense of a weight being lifted.
-
The length of therapy depends on your unique needs, goals, and life circumstances.
While most clients experience meaningful progress with at least 3 months of therapy, we’ll regularly discuss your progress and adjust our approach as needed.
Both short-term and longer-term support (6+ months) are available.
Therapy is not forever. My goal is to work myself out of my job for those with short-term goals. For others, settling into a consistent relationship creates trust that you bring with you into the world and bring back to therapy to process.

Intensive trauma therapy offers a focused and accelerated path to healing through extended sessions (2-3 hours). These intensives provide a concentrated period of time to unfold and dive deep into your experiences, allowing for more rapid progress than traditional weekly sessions. They can be particularly beneficial if you prefer a short-term approach, are facing a specific crisis, or find it challenging to commit to ongoing weekly appointments.
During your free consultation, we can explore if intensive therapy is a good fit for you.
-
I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for adults. KAP sessions are 3 hours long and combine ketamine (in psycholytic or psychedelic doses) with somatic therapies to support nervous system healing. KAP treatment occurs in collaboration with a medical prescriber, whom I’ll refer you to if we decide to work together.
KAP can be a powerful complement to trauma therapy, accelerating overall progress.
